Registering to use a drone or model aircraft
Register as an operator
Use this service when:
- you want to register for an operator ID because you own or are responsible for a drone or model aircraft
- you do not want to get a flyer ID at the same time
You must be at least 18 years old to get an operator ID.
You can use the same operator ID for all your drones and model aircraft.
If you want to fly, you must also have a flyer ID in most cases. You can check what you need in the registration requirements.
If you are an accountable manager for an organisation that is responsible for drones or model aircraft, please register as an organisation.
Price
Registration for an operator ID costs £11.79 and is valid for 1 year.
Before you start
You'll need:
- an email address that you’ll be able to check during your application
- a debit or credit card
- details of any insurance required (opens in a new tab)
If you already have a flyer ID, you’ll need to get your operator ID in the My registration area.
